Success in the gym is down to consistence.
A lot of people will be starting back at the gym today, and will have glorious plans to workout everyday or to go the gym 5 times a week for a year.
That is basically setting yourself up to failing.
The problem is setting these goals when you are focused and ready to go is brilliant. However when you get busy or lose a bit of motivation you will not be able to commit so many hours to the gym.
That will get you down, and make you think you have failed. When you won’t have, its simply too unrealistic.
The person who goes the gym 2/3 times a week for a year, will make much better progress and be in better shape than the person who goes 5 times a week for 3 weeks, and burns out.
It sounds simple but from my experience this is one of the main reason why people don’t see through their resolutions or New Year plans.
Of course you need to be pushing hard when you are in the gym and everyday you need that consistence with your diet too.
