Is eating out possible when dieting?

Many clients in the gym use eating out as an excuse not keep to good nutrition principles. Excuses such as ‘there is nothing good on the menu’, ‘ I will have to cheat because of friends’. These are not relevant excuses (nothing really is) you have to take responsibility for your actions and food!

The best way is to go online and look up the menu of the place you will visit, most of them have calories on their websites now so its even easier, if all else fails stick to high protein lower calorie meals. Almost all restaurants will have some sort of grilled meat and a side of vegetables. That’s all you will need for mains, starters could be something simple like prawns or chicken salad, desert us probably a no go but if you must have something go with sorbet!

Lastly if you must drink alcohol go for gin and tonic it’s your best bet with the least amount of calories, stick to water or diet drinks.
